While completing my Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology, I specialized in
child studies.  In working with children and adolescents, my goal is to ensure
they each find their voice, and then assist them in addressing the challenges
they face.  I work collaboratively with family members, and other key people
in the children's lives, understanding that children exist in dynamic
relationship to others.  Most often, the larger system also benefits from
support and is instrumental in helping a child grow and heal.
A native of Montana, I am grateful to be able to bring home my experience
as a teacher with Teach for America and researcher for the Los Angeles
Unified School District in California.  Through these experiences, I have
gained keen awareness of the dynamics that take place in schools.  I have
an appreciation for the efforts and special considerations that frequently
need to be addressed when youth are dealing with issues that primarily or
secondarily impact their learning or relating in school.
Work with children and adolescents includes addressing:
  • interpersonal conflict
  • improving communication skills

    loss, divorce, family
    restructuring, etc.

    system
